Liz’s approach to supporting individuals with SpLDs revolves around taking a holistic approach to their learning and support, and the importance of seeing the student as opposed to the label. This leads her to the acknowledgement and understanding that she herself is an important part of the ‘performance equation’ of the student. The specialist support offered is therefore not a ‘one size fits all’. Differences between learners are recognised in individualised support planning that is agreed with the student and which endeavours to consider the emotional and social needs of the learner.
Liz has worked in Higher Education for many years and is an experienced specialist SpLDs and dyslexia support tutor. She understands the importance of students learning how to develop and continually improve their study skills in order to reach their full potential. Liz is experienced in working with further and higher education students of all ages and levels including Masters and PhD students.
